Roberto Mancini (born in Jesi, Ancona, Italy, 30 November 1964; age 47 years) is a football manager and former Italian football player who since December 2009 to train the English Premier League club, Manchester City. Roberto Mancini has played for the club Lazio, Sampdoria, and Leicester City. He became manager of Internazionale from 2004 until he was fired on May 29, 2008. His position was later transferred to the former Chelsea manager, José Mourinho.


Roberto ManciniMancini debuted in the Italian League Serie A with Bologna on 12 September 1981. The following year he was bought by Sampdoria, where he played there until 1997. Then he played for Lazio (1997-2000) and then Leicester City (2001).

After retiring as a coach, Mancini began training Fiorentina (2001). He led the team that won the Coppa Italia in his first year as manager.

Mancini was appointed manager of Lazio in 2002 and successfully won the Coppa Italia in 2004. In 2004 he announced a move that also deal with Inter Milan.

With Inter, he won two times the Coppa Italia (2005 and 2006), Supercoppa Italia twice (2005 and 2006) and the Scudetto three times (2005-2006, 2006-2007 and 2007-08), and became the most successful Inter coach for 30 years . However, Mancini failed to continue that performance in European competitions.

On May 29, 2008, officially announced the dismissal of Inter Mancini, due to noise with club chairman Massimo Moratti. It was in reaction to negative comments Mancini after the defeat against Liverpool in the Champions League. Mancini was replaced by Jose Mourinho.


On December 19, 2009, Roberto Mancini ended his spare time Premier League club, Manchester City ask for her hand as a manager to replace Mark Hughes. Roberto started his career at Manchester City with a resounding 2-0 victory against Stoke City.
